What is the Cause?
PRESSURE: Prolonged pressure will cause a pressure sore, also known as a pressure ulcer. Such as when a person is sitting in a chair for hours on end.
FRICTION: Friction may occur when changing positions, when skin drags upon sheets for example.
SHEAR: when two surfaces move in the opposite direction and can pull the skin causing damage.
